Sleeping should be relaxing and comfortable on most occasions. This should serve as our foundation on how we face our daily challenges. But isn’t it annoying waking up with a terrible neck sprain or a nerve wrecking backache? These can be prevented by choosing the correct pillow for your waking up problems. Say no more to waking up on the wrong side of the bed.
Choosing the firmness of our pillow where we rest our head when we sleep is important. Our neck should lay aligned with our spine thus not having too sunken bending our necks too far from our shoulders or skewed from the mattress thus there should be no gap from our pillow.
Firmness may not be the same for everybody’s comfort this is why we need to know the correct pillow that is most comfortable.
Same with the firmness of our pillow, the filling of our pillows provides different levels of comfort. Each type has its own pros and cons. Unfortunately, the key to knowing which one provides you best comfort is to try them for your own experience.
Know your type and it is always helpful to research about different types of filling.
Sleeping positions vary from person to person. There are those who are comfortable in sleeping on their back, on their side or even on their stomach.
Depending on your usual position when sleeping, there are pillows that fits you to support your shoulders, neck and head. Always remember that the alignment of these three should always be taken in to consideration thus the height of your pillow should make an impact on whether you are sleeping flat, on your sides or on your stomach.
The alignment of our spine, to our shoulders, to our head has been straight for a reason. Thus good posture even when lying down when we sleep helps a lot in preventing those undesired aches in the morning.
Woken up by your own snoring while you were asleep? Pillows also has a role in helping you with this problem. It may be too high or too low that it restricts your airways because it doesn’t provide you the proper alignment of your neck.
Pillows wear off. After sleeping on them for countless nights, the material of the pillow gets worn and soaked with sweat, and lets not be shy about it – saliva. It also gets infested with microorganisms that often causes allergies. It is advisable to change your pillows when its due depending on its’ type.
Sleep should be a privilege. Not an agony. Being able to sleep with a pillow fit for you is the first step to a glorious nights sleep.
