Making your bed is one of the most basic tasks in life. As a child, your mum likely encouraged (nagged) you to make it each morning but still many of us as adults may not know how to make a bed efficiently and neatly.
Surprisingly, there are many people across the globe who are incapable of making their own beds well every morning after they wake up. The good news is, if you fall into this category of people, then today’s your lucky day! In this article we’re going to look at the techniques on how to make a bed quickly, easily and neatly.
Many studies have shown that making your bed in the morning is one of the best ways to set yourself up for a productive and successful day? The theory is, if you start the day by making your bed, you will have already accomplished one of the tasks of the day, and this will give you the motivation to go on completing more and more tasks! Maintaining a neat bed also help keep your mind uncluttered.
So, let’s get to it!
Uncovering how to make a bed look absolutely amazing and how to quickly make it are some of the aspects that we are going to focus on today, which can also be especially useful for hotels and B&B’s if you need to make lots of beds quickly! Whether you’re hiring beds or making your own bed at home, the following are the simple techniques of how to make your bed quickly, easily and neatly.
1. Ensure that you have a quality mattress
The quality of the mattress you choose will have a great impact on your sleep during the night and the ease of making your bed every morning. There are many mattress types to choose depending on the kind of sleeper you are. Generally, firm mattresses are usually the best. But if you decide to pick a softer mattress, then add a mattress pad to enhance your comfort, and ease of making your bed every morning.
2. Cover the mattress with a bed sheet
The first thing you should do after ensuring your mattress is in order is to fit the mattress with a bed sheet. Fitted sheets are usually the best as they will give you a humble time when covering the mattress. Fitted shits comfortably fit around the mattress and will save you the hustle of tucking the sheets in by yourself. But if you do not have flat sheets, just put it neatly, and evenly so that you can tuck it under the mattress.
3. Pick a top sheet and lay it on the fitted sheet
The top sheet is usually a flat sheet. Just like the bottom sheet, spread it neatly and evenly over the bed, but this time only tuck the foot of the bed and leave out the head. Ensure that the finished sides of the sheet face downwards.
4. Add blankets or your duvet
Your blankets or duvet can be added by repeating step number 3. Just ensure that only the bottom part is tucked in.
After adding the blankets or duvet, carefully fold the top sheet at the head over the blankets or duvet.

5. Put pillows
The last step is blending the elegant look of your bed with beautiful soft pillows. The pillows can either be placed to lay down flat or stand against the headboard.
And that’s all there is to it! We hope the above steps for making your bed easily, quickly and neatly helped you today. If making your bed has always been a nightmare to you, we hope that now it isn’t!
